Hrifunesvegur
Hrifunesvegur is a remote, wild destination in southern Iceland. Vast open spaces of bright green grasslands nourished by glacial streams lead down to the river which changes its forms constantly – wetlands to water to ice. Nearby, massive towering white giants also morph their shapes and images, and bright blue waters. Boating, kayaking, fishing, hiking, waterfall bathing, bird watching, stargazing, and spectacular photography opportunities await. Look out for ancient craters and fresh springs. The magnificent Aurora Borealis can be seen from here, too during winter.
