History:
Near the town are three remains of hunegraves. The graves were built more than 4000 years ago and are still in good condition! The name ‘Antequera’ comes from the Roman ‘Antikaria’ and means ‘old city’. Between the 16th and 18th century, the city experienced good times. You can see this in the many churches, monasteries and palaces from that time. There is an abundance of interesting historical buildings to see.
