About the data processing

Webshop software

Our webshop is developed with software from WooCommerce. Personal data that you make available to us for our services is not shared with this party. WooCommerce has no access to your data. The webshop uses cookies to collect technical information related to your use of the software, no personal data are collected and / or stored.

Web hosting / TransIP

We use web hosting and e-mail services provided by TransIP. TransIP processes personal data on our behalf and does not use your data for its own purposes. However, this party may collect metadata on the use of the services. This is not personal data. Selfdriveroutes.com has appropriate technical and organizational measures to prevent loss and unauthorized use of your personal data. Selfdriveroutes.com is bound by contract to confidentiality.

E-mail and mailing lists / MailChimp

We send our e-mail newsletters with MailChimp. MailChimp will never use your name and e-mail address for its own purposes. At the bottom of every email sent automatically via our website you will see the unsubscribe link. You will then no longer receive our newsletter. Your personal data are stored securely by MailChimp. MailChimp uses cookies and other Internet technologies that provide insight into whether emails are opened and read. MailChimp reserves the right to use your data for the further use your data to further improve the service and as part of this, to share information with third parties.

TransIP

We use the services of TransIP for our regular business e-mail traffic. This party has appropriate technical and organisational measures to prevent the misuse, loss and corruption of your and our data as much as possible. TransIP has no access to our mailbox and we treat all our e-mail traffic as confidential.

Payment processors/ Mollie

To process (part of) the payments in our webshop, we use the platform of Mollie. Mollie processes your name, address and residence details and your payment information, such as your bank account or credit card number. Mollie has taken appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data. Mollie reserves the right to use your data in order to further improve services and, as part of this, share (anonymised) data with third parties. All the above-mentioned safeguards for the protection of your personal data also apply to those parts of Mollie’s services for which it engages third parties. Mollie will not retain your data any longer than is permitted by law.

Reviews

We collect independent reviews through the platform of Google Reviews. We will invite you to leave a review at our google business page.

Shipping

Not applicable as our product is a service. Once the client has ordered a self drive route via our webshop, we will email their unique code of this specific route. The travel app, called “Travel Key” (a green logo with a key) can be down loaded free of charge from the IOS store for a Apple device and the Google Play store for a Android device. Once the app is installed on the smartphone, the client has to enter the unique code we sent to them and their email address and the app is ready for use. One can “live” navigate to destinations, attractions, hotels, restaurants, musea and all other sights that are indicated in the specific selfdrive route.  

Invoicing and accounting / WooCommerce

For the maintenance of our administration and accounting, we use the services of WooCommerce. We share your name, address and city details and details regarding your order. This data is used for the administration of sales invoices. Your personal information is transmitted and stored securely. Selfdriveroutes.com is committed to confidentiality and will treat your data confidentially. Selfdriveroutes will not use your personal data for purposes other than those described above.

Purpose of data processing

We use your data exclusively for the purpose of providing our services. This means that the purpose of the processing is always directly related to the order you provide. We do not use your data for (targeted) marketing. If you share information with us and we use this information – other than at your request – to contact you at a later date, we will ask you for your explicit permission. Your details will not be shared with third parties other than to meet accounting and other administrative obligations. These third parties are all bound to secrecy by agreement between them and us or by an oath or legal obligation.

Automatically Collected Data

Data that is automatically collected by our website is processed with the aim of further improving our services. This data (e.g. your IP address, web browser and operating system) are not personal data. 

The processing of personal data when using our services

We process your personal data using the legitimate interests legal basis. We apply appropriate safeguards to protect your privacy and we process your personal data for the following purposes:

  • Helping you find your ideal hotel, tour, rental car and/or flight by directing you to the supplier.
  • Providing you with customised and more relevant hotel, tours, carrental and flight results
  • Providing, securing, maintaining and improving our services for our users
  • Complying with legal obligations, preventing fraud and resolving disputes
  • Collecting your email address via WooCommerce for sending you your unique code to upload your selfdriveroute onto your smartphone.

When you use our services, we supply the supplier only with the details of travel and number of people travelling. You are redirected to the supplier’s website to finalize the booking. Selfdriveroutes.com will not collect any personal data of client like name, date of birth, address, payment details for the purpose of making bookings for hotels, tours, flights and rental cars. 

Electronic identification data such as IP addresses, cookies, connection moments, device ID’s mobile advertising identifiers, date and time of the inquiry, time, request contents, (concrete page), access status/HTTP status code, amount of data transferred, website receiving the request, browser software and version, operating system and its interface, and language. Data that your browser or device makes available. 

When you use our services and click a link to an accommodation offer, carrental or tour, the online booking site will only confirm that an offer has been successfully accepted and paid for. For our redirecting service, Selfdriveroutes.com is receiving a small commission.

Cooperation with fiscal and criminal investigations

In certain cases Happy Webshops / Selfdriveroutes can be obliged by law to share your data in connection with fiscal or criminal investigations by the authorities. In such a case we are forced to share your data, but we will do so within the possibilities of the law.

Storage terms

We will retain your data for as long as you are a client of ours. This means that we will keep your client profile until you indicate that you no longer wish to make use of our services. If you indicate this to us, we will also consider this to be a request for forgetting. Pursuant to applicable administrative obligations, we must invoices containing your (personal) data, we will therefore keep this data for as long as the applicable. These data will therefore be retained for as long as the applicable term lasts. However, employees no longer have access to your client profile and documents that we have produced as a result of your instructions.

Your rights

Pursuant to applicable Dutch and European legislation, you, as the person concerned, have certain rights with regard to Dutch and European legislation, as a data subject you have certain rights with regard to the personal data that are processed by us or on our behalf. We will explain below what these rights are and how you can exercise them. In order to prevent misuse, we will only send copies of your data to your e-mail address already known to us. If you wish to receive the data at another e-mail address or, for example, by post, we will ask you to identify yourself. We keep a record of completed requests; in the case of a forgetful request, we keep an anonymous record. You will receive all copies and data in the machine-readable format that we use in our systems. You have the right at all times to lodge a complaint with the Personal Data Authority if you suspect that we are using your personal data in an incorrect manner.

You always have the right to restrict the data that we process, or have processed, which relate to you or can be traced back to you. You can make a request to this effect to our contact person for privacy matters. You will receive a response to your request within 30 days. If your request is granted, we will send you a confirmation at the e-mail address provided that the data will no longer be processed until you lift the restriction.

Right of portability

You always have the right to transfer the data that we process, or have processed, and which relates to you or can be traced back to you, to a third party. You can make a request to this effect to our contact person for privacy matters. You will receive a response to your request within 30 days.
