Jaen

Jaen is located in the Andalusia region in southern Spain. The capital of the province of the same name is known as the ‘Olive Oil Capital of the World’. Jaen makes a wonderful base for exploring a number of cultural attractions. Architecture lovers will find their heart’s content in Jaen and should visit the huge renaissance cathedral of Jaen. Climb the imposing Santa Catalina Ridge to visit the Castle and get amazing views of the city from its defensive walls, before visiting the heart of the city: the 16th-Century Santa Iglesia Cathedral.

More architectural materpieces can be found in the near-lying UNESCO World Heritage Sites of Ubeda and Baeza. Active travellers can hike in the Sierras de Cazorla, Segura y Las Villas Natural Park. Finally, note that Jaen is known for its excellent tapas restaurants – with many places serving these appetisers free to customers ordering drinks.
