Kokkola
Kokkola is a historic port city set halfway up Finland’s coast, in the Central Ostrobothnia region. Long used as an important harbour, Kokkola’s Old Town is fascinating; featuring ancient, brightly-coloured wooden houses and retaining its artisan atmosphere. Photographers will enjoy visiting Tankar Island with its picturesque lighthouse and other heritage buildings. Children will enjoy the fascinating Kieppi Museum, while travellers with an interest in war history should head to Englischer Park to see a captured gunboat.
