West Iceland
Stretching north from Reykjavik, West Iceland, or Vesturland, is a beautiful region where nature takes centre stage. In West Iceland you can visit the famous Blue Lagoon. The Blue Lagoon was formed in 1976 during the operation of the nearby geothermal power station. In the following years people began bathing in the unique waters and applying the silica mud to their skin. People with psoriasis noticed an incredible improvement in their condition. Over the years the Blue Lagoon developed a range of spa services and products. Today, Blue Lagoon is recognised as one of the Wonders of the World.
